National regional policy is aimed at social and economic development of regions thus seeking to reduce the social and economic disparities between regions and in the regions and  promote balanced and sustainable development throughout the state territory. Rural development policy, in turn, focuses on the socio-economic development of even smaller territorial units and the development and competitiveness of agricultural entities. Below are some examples of BGI team in this area.

Ex-post Evaluation of 2007-2013 Lithuanian Rural Development Programme
The assessment is carried out at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.
 
Having assessed the relevance, the effectiveness, the internal and external coherence of measures and having applied macroeconomic modelling HERMIN family model, the socio-economic and environmental impacts of the Program and its impact on the implementation of the Community's priorities was identified A detailed analysis of the program's management and implementation system has allowed us to  identify problems and challenges as well as propose recommendations on how to solve them

Evaluation of Implementation of 2007-2013 Operational Programme “Promotion of Cohesion” in Different Regional Economic Growth Centres and Its Continuity
The assessment was carried out at the request of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania.
 
The assessment of the measure made by the criteria of suitability, impact and effectiveness made it possible to determine the absorption of funds and achievement of results in the targeted territories and to assess the possibilities of providing EU structural assistance under the similar method for the period 2014-2020.
Prior Strategic Environmental Assessment and ex-ante Evaluation of 2014-2020 Lithuanian Fisheries Sector Operational Programme
The evaluation was carried out at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.
 
The evaluation of SWOT analysis, operational program’s strategy, monitoring system, reasonableness of financing has allowed us to make recommendations on how to  improve  the operational program’s  strategy, implementation of the operational program and program’s achievements.
Evaluation of Capitalisation of Direct Payments in the Price of Land
The assessment was carried out at the request of the Prime Minister's Office of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.
 
The investigation identified long-term trends in land prices  of Lithuania and the EU and the  correlation between land prices and direct payments changes. BGI Consulting experts evaluated the level of direct support for the capitalization of land in terms of the financial volume of direct aid and its relationship with land prices. The study also produced a regression analysis for and entire Lithuania, which enabled the  assessment of the  impact of direct payments on the price of land, taking into account the prospects for 2014-2020.
