BGI Consulting has prepared a report on the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development for the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania between July 2022 and April 2023.

The report analysed and described the actions of state institutions and economic, social and environmental processes in Lithuania in 2018-2023 that contributed to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, analysed the data on the indicators of the SDs and the most important policies implemented in order to clarify the trends, achievements and challenges in the implementation of each of the 17 SDOs, and put forward proposals for the adjustment of Lithuania's SDs policy with the aim of achieving the 2030 Agenda.

The report focuses on an overview of the SDOs, in particular Lithuania's national priorities for the SDs, and additionally on 17 SDs. The sub-sections of each of the SDOs presented here outline the relevance of each goal for Lithuania and the country's position at the international level, and how the provisions of a particular goal are reflected in the country's strategic agenda. Based on the indicators of the objective of the goal, an analysis of the objective's (in)progress is presented, interventions are applied, challenges are identified and possible actions to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Lithuania are outlined. The report concludes with summary conclusions and suggestions for improving the implementation of the SDO in Lithuania.

The main sources of data for this report are the country's strategic documents, the publicly available indicators of the SDO published by the State Data Agency, previous evaluations, studies, analyses, as well as evaluations carried out by NGOs, their positions and opinions on the issues related to the implementation of the SDO, and semi-structured interviews with the ministries implementing the SDO, and representatives of NGOs.
