At the request of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, BGI Consulting carried out the "Assessment of changes in the state of the economic sectors co-financed by the European Union funds under the competence of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation ( 3rd stage)" in April-November 2023, which aimed at updating the MEI's monitoring system for the sectors co-financed by the European Union funds and the HERLIT-16 macroeconomic model, which operates automatically.
The evaluation covered the investment priorities and objectives of the 2014-2020 Operational Programme for Investment of the European Union Funds (2014-2020), including objective 1.2 of the Operational Programme for the period 2021-2027 "Reaping the benefits of digitalisation for citizens, businesses, research organisations and public authorities", which is under the remit of MEI.
BGI Consulting experts have complemented the MEI's areas of expertise and the economic areas co-financed by EU investment funds (tourism, business, business environment, research and technological development, innovation, energy, human resources) with an assessment of the state of change of the digitalisation sector and have identified the most relevant economic areas, sector-specific and relevant financial monitoring indicators for the EU Structural Funds, taking into account that the data will be used for the planning of new measures for the period 2021-2027 and for the assessment of their impact and return on investment, both over the whole period and at sectoral level.
